India violating working boundary pre planned: Mushahid

SIALKOT: Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Chairman Senate Standing Committee for Defense on Wednesday expressed concern over violation of working boundary by the Indian security forces and termed it a pre-plan violation by Indian Army. "He expressed solidarity with Pak Army, the locals and Pak Rangers who face severe Indian firing and shelling along the Working Boundary," he said while talking to media while visiting Charwa Sector in Sialkot.

The Two-member Committee of Senate Standing Committee for Defense including Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed and Senator Sardar Mohsin Laghari visited the Working Boundary to assess damages due to Indian firing.

He said that Indian Security Forces had fired 31,872 mortar shells in six days during Eid- ul-Fitr which was worse shelling than the shelling during the 1971 war. The senator said Indian firing and shelling shows the thinking of Narendara Modi's government as it violates the Working Boundary.

He urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to highlight the issue of violation of Working Boundary during the upcoming SAARC Summit in Kathmandu.

Mushahid said that he had raised the issue of firing and shelling with UN observers and they admitted the violation by Indian Security Forces which was against the UN charter.

"We as member of Defense Committee visited Siachen and now we are visiting the Working Boundary to express solidarity with the people," he said.

Indian Border Security Forces have violated the working boundary at least 30 times, as a result, 11 civilians had been killed and 38 injured during the year.

Earlier, Khan Tahir Javed Khan, Director General Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) briefed the members of Senate Standing Committee about the unprovoked Indian firing and shelling at Rangers Headquarters.
