Mushahid urges political leadership to show maturity

LAHORE, May 9, 2012 : Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League-Q Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed Wednesday said the leadership should show wisdom and take necessary steps to avoid any clash between the institutions so that no one from military could take advantage of this disturbed situation.

Addressing launching ceremony of "Will and Skill" written by Mowahid Hussain Shah here at Nazria Pakistan Trust, Mushahid said decisions of the Supreme Court should be implemented in letter and spirit and respect and honour to the Apex Court and its should be given more importance than the chair of rulership.

He said if any one wants to launch Long March. it should be against price hike, terrorism and shortage of energy.

Later, talking to newsmen, Mushahid Hussain Syed said mistakes of the past should not be repeated and the leaders of today should learn lessons from the past mistakes.

He said the events of 1977, 1999 and 2009 should be remembered and the decisions of the Supreme  Court should be given due respect and honour.

Mushahid said, his party demanded that there should be political cease fire for two years and all the political parties should concentrate the all energies to education, energy and economy.

He said long march was suddenly stopped on a phone call from Rawalpindi in March 2009 adding that April 30 warning should be given due consideration.

Mushahid said the situation in the region has been changing and US has announced to keep its forces in Afghanistan till 2024 and it will have negative effect on Pakistan.

Replying to a question, he said, all the stakeholders should exhibit restrain and patience and ensure the supremacy of rule of law.

He said there should be no compromise on national security and integrity at any cost.

He said the nation has still current and potential and with the dedication and courage it can still lead the Muslim Ummah.

Renowned journalists Majid Nizami while addressing the function said he will continue his efforts to protect ideology of Pakistan.

Majid Nizami said Col. (Retd) Amjad Hussain, father of the author of the book Muwahid Hussain, who was also present on this occasion belongs to a family that has strong believe in Muslim League and his family played important role in projecting ideology of Pakistan.

Senator S. M. Zafar speaking on the occasion said it is the responsibility of the society that it should ensure the supremacy of the rule of law.

He said if the nation will not play its due role and should not put pressure on the rules to implement the decisions of the Supreme Court then the future of the democracy will be in danger.
